Item Unique Identification (IUID) Marking

Easily Comply With The Marking System Required by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for All Parts & Equipment.

The MIL-STD-130M standard provides the item marking criteria for development of specific marking requirements and methods for identification of items of military property produced, stocked, stored, and issued by or for the Department of Defense.
The standard addresses criteria and data content for machine-readable information applications of item identification marking.

So, suppliers to the DOD are required to apply a permanent Data Matrix two-dimensional barcode on parts and components.

The DoD’s IUID requires an item’s mark:

  1. Remains readable throughout the item’s normal life cycle
  2. Withstands all environmental conditions to which the item
will be exposed under normal operating conditions
  3. Provides no detrimental effects on the functional
performance, reliability, or durability of the item

To do business with the U.S. Defense Department compliance to the MIL-STD-130M standard is necessary.

Among the numerous features of RN Mark print systems, you can select between square or rectangular 2D codes; user selectable number of dots per cell; user selectable construct; data identifier reference and automatic matrix determination.

Easily meet your DoD compliance requirements and have a system in place to satisfy your schedule.
